We are thrilled to announce that Zimcode has been accepted as a new member of the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE), a program of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). This is an exciting milestone for our company, and we are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to such an important initiative.
ARISE is a global network of private sector organizations committed to disaster risk reduction and the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Paris Climate Agreement. The network provides a platform for businesses to collaborate and exchange best practices, as well as to engage with governments and other stakeholders to build more resilient communities.
Zimcode is leveraging the technology behind TeamRunner to develop an emergency housing and management platform, ShelterHub.io. With the guidance of Zimcode’s new advisor, Dr. Peter Williams, we will bring our knowledge, experience, and commitment to disaster risk reduction to the table. We are passionate about using technology to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, and we believe that ShelterHub will help cities manage some of the most difficult housing challenges in the face of emergency and homelessness.
As we join ARISE, we are committed to supporting the network’s efforts to build more disaster-resilient societies. We believe that the private sector has an important role to play in disaster risk reduction, and we are eager to work with other like-minded organizations to make a positive impact.
